So many people are stuck on "recycle" without thinking about the first two. When DH and I started concentrating on the 1st two, our recyclables and trash went down considerably. And we try to only buy on a "need" basis rather than a "want" (although there are still "wants" purchased, just not near as many as before). Now if I could just stay on my bead diet - too many wants out there - LOL!

ShadowDogDesignshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17163152357908905082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8461605998474862563.post-55318456892179752342015-04-22T13:58:05.458-05:002015-04-22T13:58:05.458-05:00Ann, good for YOU! You remind me that I could do a lot more by giving up paper napkins and paper plates which we use way too often!

I'd like to find a good alternative to padded mailers, but haven't found a reliable alternative yet. Let's keep our eyes open on that one!

And yummm... I bet those fresh veggies are good!

Thanks for replying! --SharylSharylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11290002867469159820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8461605998474862563.post-90097266376061887722015-04-22T06:30:15.947-05:002015-04-22T06:30:15.947-05:00Great post! But, I gave up my car a few years ago and feel it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I use public transportation and on occasion a car sharing service if necessary. I have switched to cloth napkins to reduce daily waste. A few years ago I joined a CSA farm, so every time I get a box of vegetables, they are groceries with absolutely no packaging! Happy Earth Day.
