I interrupt our own "CHALLENGE: Designing Jewelry for Special Audiences" ...
...to make sure no one misses the "BEAD SOUP Blog Party" results that were announced today! I've been hearing about this on jewelry blogs for weeks now, but until looking at the swaps of beads and the amazing results, I truly had no idea what a marvelous event this is!
Here are the guidelines. A package for swapping might look something like what I've put together in these photos, although all I saw were significantly more elaborate and each must include a nice clasp.
I've only made it through 10 or so swaps today (that's 20 people's jewelry), so still have a lot to go, but some are SPLENDID and all are interesting, and there's something to be learned by looking at each of them!
- You probably want to start with Lori Anderson's page. She organizes the event. Lori Anderson's "Pretty Things"-- 4th Bead Soup Blog Party!
- Along with Lori's creations, one of the most lovely I've seen so far comes from "Silver Parrot!"

You are so kind! I hope you'll participate next year -- on the 18th the new badge will be on the web site!
I'm so honored you responded, Lori! Thanks so much! We'll all be on the look out for your next event!
I love Lori's jewelry! I actually own a bracelet she made. My friend sent it to me as a surprise gift. The bead soup blog party sounds like fun!
Lucky YOU, Krista! --Sharyl
Love what you have done Sharyl!! Great job!
Thanks so much, Elizabeth! We have a "Challenge" of another sort going on over here. We're discussing designing jewelry for special audiences. That can include just about anyone! We've been discussing ideas for designing for children, and we have people with special needs, ideas for activities for nursing facilities, and anything else people would like to discuss coming up. Please join us and spread the word! We would appreciate the input!--Sharyl
I participated in the Bead Soup Blog Party for the first time, and it was great! A real challenge. Hope you will join in this January, Sharyl! (There is a lottery this time, I understand).
