I don't sleep in this room all the time, so it was so nice to wake there to the sun streaming in through my home-made white curtains. (Otherwise known as cotton tea-towels with clips on a rod. I love being able to change out my curtains this way!)
So I was laying there, enjoying watching the sunlight dancing around the curtains, almost imagining the window was open and the wind blowing them...
When it occurred to me that I shouldn't JUST be laying in bed looking at the curtains. I should be laying in bed WITH THE CAMERA looking at the curtains! :-)
So I ran and got the camera, and snapped a few shots from the position I had been. Those are different settings that I normally use on my camera. I was surprised I could do a "macro" from a distance! But it sort of magnified everything--including the "micro-screens" in the window you can barely see in real life!
Finally, I got myself up and took some closeups the way I normally do. I think these turned out a bit better.
You see this is a real "cottage" look I've got going with these curtains!
#11: "Sunny Wake-up"
Not every thing about them is just perfect, but they are a pretty sight to wake up to!
And in the other bedroom window, hangs this...
...a dried hydrangea bloom from a past garden.
Wishing you many sunny days and happy mornings! Thanks for taking a look at mine!

they look delightful, but you say they're tea-towels; you mean the drying up your things at the kitchen sink tea-towels? They're so short, these look long? Did you so the sides together to one another?? I can't help wondering; you did great! Very innovative Sharyl.
Your vantage point was a good one..and how lucky you were to enjoy that moment with the sun filtering through your sweet curtains..I love that light delicate look. Even the hooks look great when viewed as macro!
Thank you for popping by, Sharyl..your comment re- putting bird in the tree made me chuckle as it did require a little fiddling to get it to sit right!

They are lovely...and so are the shots.
Thank you, all! It was a pretty, if simple sight!
Carole, those are the type of towels I mean. These are fairly large ones, sort of like the old flour sack type (like I remember getting flour this way, but that's what I think!) I think another reason they look so long was the angle at which I took the photos. I did absolutely no sewing. That's the whole point! Ha! But thanks for the thought! :-)
I like your curtains:)
great shots Sharyl....pretty curtains and love how you've hung them...have a great week....
PS thank you for visiting my blog..and no...never sewing again :)
Very good and nice photos.
Regards and best wishes
Sharyl,
That is a beautiful site to wake up to I agree! I like your curtain idea.

You did a beautiful job with your curtains, and I really like the detachable rings. One of the things that really caught my eye was the bluish looking screens. That color is amazing knowing full well they are dark gray. I have all cottage style curtains in my house out here in the country. I love them. genie
Great shots. How nice to wake up to a sunny day!
Those are beautiful! I love the clips too! very easy to interchange and they work great for other things in other rooms like the kids' artwork too :) What a great sunny way to wake up!
You have a very good eye. ^_^

The photos have such a calming feel to them, Sharyl! The curtains are lovely. Oh, and those lovely dried hydrangeas, so vintage! All the shots are beautiful!
