Celtic Collection on Sale--See Lastest Items Here!

I think the last--at least the last for now--of the Celtic Collection is in Artfire.   All pieces will be on sale through St. Patrick's Day weekend, then will return to regular pricing.

These are all new pieces so I'm not sure when they will go on sale again.   If you are interested, I hope you can get them while they are on sale!

All things green from the studio have also gone into the "On Sale Now" section!

Some, but not all, of these have been shown on Facebook, but I saved a few to share only with you here!  The latest additions:

Earthy Globe Pendant
(Lampwork--"Art by Lisi")

Lampwork -- "Art by Lisi"

Sold separately, but would look great together!

Green Agate Pendant and Gemstone Necklace

Pendant is silver filigree with green agate inlay.
Necklace contains Green Aventurine nuggets
and China Jade rectangular beads.

Green Memory Bracelet

Shades of Ireland Pendant

Hope you enjoy these!  You can see these and other Celtic and green items in the "On Sale Now" section at Sharyl's Jewelry!

For daily updates, visit and "like" the Facebook page!

Very best wishes!  --Sharyl

P.S.   I had a pair of my earrings listed in an ArtFire Curated Collection early this morning!  Visit the link to see which ones!  :-)

i heart macro: Leaping Lizards!

Forgive me if I've posted these before.   I did actually go out in the rain today and took photos of early Spring, but my camera kept  acting up, so I came back inside to see what I might have taken before you hadn't seen.  I'm not sure if I've shared these before, but they are so bright and cheerful, I thought I would risk posting again.

They make me smile.  Hopefully they will make you smile too!

These are magnets,
and my cork bulletin board
has a magnetic layer so they work here too.
I like how this one seems to be
climbing up over the edge for a look!

This one is crawling sideways,
 just "exploring" a bit!

I've had these magnets quite a while and no longer remember where I got them, but they are one little purchase I've always been happy I made!

P.S.  If you scroll down a bit you'll see a few new jewelry photos from my new Celtic collection!

Celtic Collection, Continued

I've been hoping to add to the Celtic pieces in my Artfire studio for more than a week.   Well, I finally made a bit more headway in the last day or two.   Here are 3 new pieces I finished and just added to the studio for purchase.   I still have a couple more pieces that are partially done, so there will be a few more yet.  Here are today's three:

Kells Earrings in Teal

Handmade lampwork beads by Beth Singleton
Silver-plated celtic design beads, accent beads.
Sterling silver filled earhooks were made by me.

Note:  If you follow me on Facebook too, you've probably heard me talk about practicing making earwires.  If not, here's the mini-scoop:  I've been trying to make more of my own findings so that I can learn new skills, maintain good quality,  and attempt to control costs.   These are not major works of art on par with lampwork or anything, by any means...However, just for today, I'll point out a few of the pieces I've done.    Remember, baby steps....   :-)

Irish Lavender Necklace

Celtic scroll pendant, lavender quartz, carnelian,

connecting to antiqued silver chain.

Chain in front and
double layer of satin and sheer lavender ribbon in the back
are connected  by clasps made of  scrolled, hammered wire  and large jumprings.
These clasps are in the front

and can be opened from either side.
(Scrolled wire clasps handmade by me.

I actually did a lot of this a year or so ago,
then tired of it and just revived it for this piece.)

The ribbons can be seen at the very top of the photograph.

Hint of Mint Earrings

12mm Czech Class Crystals with just a hint of green, olive green rondelles,
and loads of antiqued copper wire and accent beads.
Earhooks handmade by me.

As I mention in an entry in my studio, Celtic jewelry is not a one-day event for me.   St. Patrick's Day is just a good reason to be reminded of all things Celtic.   When it comes to holidays, I personally associate Halloween/Samhain more with the Irish than I do St. Pat's;
it's a much more ancient tradition.
But no matter when or how or if you celebrate,
I hope you will enjoy my tribute to all things Celtic.  It's a part of my heritage, and
a source of inspiration and enjoyment to me.  I enjoy sharing it with you!

Best wishes and Happy March!

Sharyl

P.S. You don't have to like Celtic-inspired jewelry to enjoy the current sale.  All things green are also on sale!

i heart macro: Curtains in Sunlight

Saturday morning, I woke up to this:

I don't sleep in this room all the time, so it was so nice to wake there to the sun streaming in through my home-made white curtains.   (Otherwise known as cotton tea-towels with clips on a rod.  I love being able to change out my curtains this way!)

So I was laying there, enjoying watching the sunlight dancing around the curtains, almost imagining the window was open and the wind blowing them...

When it occurred to me that I shouldn't JUST be laying in bed looking at the curtains.   I should be laying in bed WITH THE CAMERA looking at the curtains!  :-)

So I ran and got the camera, and snapped a few shots from the position I had been.   Those are different settings that I normally use on my camera.  I was surprised I could do a "macro" from a distance!   But it sort of magnified everything--including the "micro-screens" in the window you can barely see in real life!

Finally, I got myself up and took some closeups the way I normally do.   I think these turned out a bit better.

You see this is a real "cottage" look I've got going with these curtains!

#11:  "Sunny Wake-up"

Not every thing about them is just perfect, but they are a pretty sight to wake up to!

And in the other bedroom window, hangs this...

...a dried hydrangea bloom from a past garden.

Wishing you many sunny days and happy mornings!  Thanks for taking a look at mine!

Destash Collection Close-out Sale-o-Rama!

I put a few beads and findings in my studio for a Destash Blog Hop awhile back.  They are found in the "Bead Extras--Destash" section.
I want to get them out of my studio inventory now.   They keep appearing in  my rotating displays of jewelry when I could have jewelry I made in those slots!

Maybe this will be good news for somebody wanting some beads at less than cost?   I'm going to sell what I can and then remove the rest from the studio.

Starting today,
  • All destash is 1/2 off its originally low price.
  • I'm also changing postage from $1.50  (already a reduced rate from than other packages) to 75 cents.
  • There will be no additional postage charge for additional items from the destash so the more you buy, the more you save.
  • If you place an order, I'll even send you some "freebies" just like the online supply stores do!  :-)
Again, it's all in the "Bead Extras--Destash" section of my studio.   I'm going to leave it there rather than move it to the Sale section.   The "Destash Collection Close-out Sale" lasts for one week, then it all goes away from the studio.

But wait, there's more!
    (No, not Ginsu knives....)

BONUS!--  If you want to buy jewelry along with your destash,  drop me a note, and I'll give you free shipping on the jewelry and mail your item(s)  with the Destash.   Now that's a bargain!   You'll only pay 75 cents for the total shipping!

Please let me know in advance and I'll set up a special offer for you so you don't get charged the shipping fee for the jewelry purchase.   (Sorry, offer only good in connection with destash purchases.  So, what the hay, buy some destash!)

Oh yes, remember to check the "On Sale Now" section for additional new sales!  Does it get any better than this?!  ;-)

Thanks and best wishes!    Happy Shopping!

P.S.  I have great news to share!   I'm awaiting info, but it's been announced that I've won one of 2 random drawings from the Feb. Art Bead Scene Challenge!  I believe it's a gift certificate from Marie Cramp's "More Skye Jewels" shop on Etsy.    I'll provide more details when I have them.   The give-away is quite generous so I promise to create a little give-away here when it arrives!   Sharing will continue the fun, and we'll take the opportunity to highlight  Marie's lovely work!

Getting Back to "Seed Beading!"

...Before the February Art Bead Scene Challenge,

...before "7000 Bracelets for Hope,"

...We had "Seed Beading with Tanya Goodwin!"

If you happened to miss that guest entry, or just want to take a second look (...and it's worth a second look)... you can link to it above!

At the end of that entry, I suggested we have a followup, showing the works of others of you on this blog who do seed beading jewelry.   So far, I have 2 people expressing interest, but I know there are several more of you out there!

This doesn't have to be a lot of work on your part.   Just leave a comment at the end of this page that you would like to be involved and include a link to your blog.   I'll be in touch with further directions and a date.

You will have the option to create a special page with several sample photos or we can link to an existing page showing something you've made.    (You do not have to create any  new jewelry for this.   This is so we can see more samples of seed beading and learn more about what some of you are doing!)

If you don't have a blog, no worries, you will be able to email  me your photos and I'll post on my blog.

If you have an online store, we can include a link to that also.  Maybe someone would like to shop!   Anyway, I'll send the details.

All you have to do right now is...  comment to this message if you would like to participate in showing a couple of your seed bead projects and include your blog address. (If you don't have a blog, I can probably reply to your message and have it go to your email.  We'll work it out.)

So, 2 is cool, but the more, the merrier!

Thanks,
Sharyl

P.S.  I'm giving you advance notice of my Destash Close-out Sale  at Sharyl's Jewelry coming soon.   (Believe it or not, I'm adding to it before I do away with it!)

Even if you're not big on destash, there may be something about this sale you like!   Keep your eye out!   Details will be announced tonight or tomorrow!
