"Bead Soup Blog Party"--Results are In--Don't Miss It!

I interrupt our own "CHALLENGE:  Designing Jewelry for Special Audiences" ...

...to make sure no one misses the "BEAD SOUP Blog Party" results that were announced today!  I've been hearing about this on jewelry blogs for weeks now, but until looking at the swaps of beads and the amazing results, I truly had no idea what a marvelous event this is!

Here are the guidelines.   A package for swapping might look something like what I've put together in these photos, although all I saw were significantly more elaborate and each must include a nice clasp.

I've only made it through 10 or so swaps today (that's 20 people's jewelry), so still have a lot to go, but some are SPLENDID and all are interesting, and there's something to be learned by looking at each of them!

  • Along with Lori's creations, one of the most lovely I've seen so far comes from "Silver Parrot!"
But I wish to insult no one--there are many, many pairs of people who swapped beads and made wonderfully creative jewelry from them!   (181 pairs, to be exact.)    Please check them out!   (Some even have give-aways of their jewelry.)  Others will give you some of the best ideas you'll ever see from the most talented jewelry artists around!   So be sure to take some time to look around...and enjoy!

I love Lori's jewelry! I actually own a bracelet she made. My friend sent it to me as a surprise gift. The bead soup blog party sounds like fun!

Thanks so much, Elizabeth! We have a "Challenge" of another sort going on over here. We're discussing designing jewelry for special audiences. That can include just about anyone! We've been discussing ideas for designing for children, and we have people with special needs, ideas for activities for nursing facilities, and anything else people would like to discuss coming up. Please join us and spread the word! We would appreciate the input!--Sharyl

I participated in the Bead Soup Blog Party for the first time, and it was great! A real challenge. Hope you will join in this January, Sharyl! (There is a lottery this time, I understand).
